Noise Nomads/Urthquake

Split 7"

STR 007

Western Mass all-star Noise Nomads teams up with New Jersey doom engine Urthquake. On tour together this September.

"Noise Nomads - solo noise dude runs the Bonescraper cassette label and is
killer artist. His performances are surreal disconnections of true noise
physicality. A lot of heart. "
-Thurston Moore

"part crunchy power electronics, part freeform freak rock drumming.
When they happen on top of each, other the results are pretty
brain-splitting."
-Byron Coley (The Wire)

Dan Friel

"Obsoleter" 12"

STR 006

Vinyl release of Dan Friel's out of print 2005 EP (originally released on cassette by Night People). Featuring artwork by Shawn Reed (Wet Hair, Raccoo-oo-oon, Night People). Friel has been making primitive electronic music under his own name and as part of the Brooklyn-based noisepunk band Parts & Labor since 2001. His work with both has been featured in publications including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Wire, and Pitchfork.

"The music he ends up with sounds like little else out there, a heaving mass of static beats, monolithic distortion, and bending, diving tones.. a unique and uncompromising sound that ultimately transcends its limitations."
- Pitchfork

"Strange and wonderful, and best of all, unlike anything else we can think of."
- Time Out New York

"Discograph" CD

STR 004

Return of the most sinister left handed band in the world. Bob T. Roller releases bits and pieces of musical bliss from his Urthquake moniker from nearly 10 years of recording. Music ranges from drone rock to noise to fucked up electronica. Urthquake crushes all of it's enemies. Look for more Urthquake later this year.

The Inflatable Children

"Get Naked With The Inflatable Children All Over Again" CD

STR 003

Perhaps the most classic hardcore band you never heard of. The Inflatable Children were a Concord, MA band that existed in the late 80's/early 90's playing primarily in the RISD and ABC No Rio scenes. This CD release includes all previously released material plus a bonus live set. The band consisted of Derek V. Stukuls on vocals, Gregory V. Stukuls on guitar, Gregory Benton on guitar, Brian Huppi on bass and Jeff Monihan on drums. TIC played a style of hardcore that could be described as angry, yet clever and with a good sense of humor. Punk as shit, check it out.

"Live on WFMU 1995" 7"

STR 002 1/6

Long-running Western Massachusetts collective documented at the height of its noise/grind powers, complete with bent electronics and horns. Recorded during their only ever tour. Includes current members of Urthquake, State Shirt, Parts & Labor, GTDS, and many more. Co-released by Bone Scraper, Interplanetary Music, LFA, $ Tree, and Cardboard. Art by Jeff Hartford.

"This is totally hot, highly reckless post-core noise jazzbo hollering from a bunch of guys who flared bright for a brief moment in a former decade but went down with all their teeth buzzing. It's a beautiful no-fi document of time sliced thin and wrapped around yowling trombones.
-Byron Coley (The Wire)

"The pics therein reveal mohawked freaks bugging out on trombones and such and there's like 6 or 7 labels co-releasing this. Someone aptly said this was like the sound of Greg Ginn jamming out with Man is the Bastard and I couldn't be more in harmony with that. This thing is aggro freedom personified."
-Brian Turner (WFMU)

"Space is Hot" LP

STR 002

Epic mid-90s Boston space rock trio. Includes guitarists Marc Orleans (Sunburned Hand of the Man) and Christian Hedlund and drummer John Widger.

"A space rock band that actually rocks. 2 guitars and drums pummel through rough psych/kosmiche avenues with a nice garage vibe. For those who need comparisions, try a less intense High Rise covering the Dead C, or a raging Spacemen 3 bootleg." -Aquarius Records
